Lee Baldwin
Since 1973, Lee Baldwin has pursued original design directions for contemporary art glass windows, evolving a unique style emphasizing the three-dimensional and spatial relationship of forms.
This contemporary art is notable for originality of concept and cleanliness of line.
Writing for The Eugene, Oregon Register-Guard in 1979, arts columnist Fred Crafts asserted:
"Lee Baldwin has created a new design idiom in contemporary art glass, with his ability to produce three-dimensional illusions and spatial relationships of forms in flat glass"
In 1994, Baldwin visited artist Michael Heizer at his remote studio near Hiko, Nevada. Heizer sent Baldwin the following note:
"I reviewed an extensive photographic file of Lee Baldwin's stained glass production, covering many years of work, and in my opinion, the works were both aesthetically and technically advanced. I look forward to seeing this work placed in public and private collections."
